Crewing

  • Ensuring the fleet is manned by certified, qualified and medically fit personnel and the compliance with all flag state requirements regarding safe manning
  • Managing placement of existing employees into positions that match their qualifications, experience and work history
  • Providing day to day liaison and support to crew, including payroll queries
  • Recruiting new employees, including interview, testing and other formalities
  • Managing crew changes including arranging visas, travel, transport and accommodation
  • Arranging training courses and inductions as required and maintaining training matrixes
  • Producing of yearly budgets and corresponding monthly financial reporting
  • Ensuring compliance with policies instructed
  • Alignment between Vessel Superintendent and Crew Officer who work in close relation for a specific vessel

Organisational

  • Contributing and writing procedures and policy documents
  • Yearly maintenance of the wages tables
  • Maintenance of contact with crewing agents
  • Managing the yearly budget process
  • Starting up new vessels from new clients
  • Involvement in contractual matters

Requirements

The colleague we are looking for has strong leadership, persuasion and analytical skills as well as the ability to communicate with people at all levels of the organisation. You are highly organised, have attention for detail, sensitivity and enjoy taking initiative.

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent level of education with either marine/technical or HR background
  • At least 5 years of work experience as crew officer preferably in the marine or offshore industry
  • Proven interest in technical processes and marine industry
  • Experience with working in multicultural environments
  • Willingness to work outside office hours
  • Excellent command of the English language at business level both verbally and in writing
